Historic Fort House - Waco, TXThe Texas Brazos Trail Region (TBTR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting heritage tourism, historic preservation, and encouraging economic development.   The Texas Brazos Trail Region is part of the award winning Heritage Trails program of the Texas Historical Commission.

The Texas Brazos Trail Region provides information to communities on grants, events, educational opportunities, press leads, and more.  Additionally we provide co-operative marketing opportunities aimed at helping communities promote themselves in ways they may not normally be able to afford. 


Accomplishments of the Texas Brazos Trail Region 

  • Regional brochure printed and distributed state-wide
  • Creation of new website:  www.texasbrazostrail.com which includes information on all the communities and counties in the region
  • Four banner displays were purchased featuring 20 communities in the region -these banners are displayed at trade shows and speaking engagements - Total value $7,400
  • THC placed advertisements on behalf of TBTR - Total value $75,000
  • Texas Highways co-op advertisements (2 ads – 6 partners each) - Total value $8,100
  • Created seven seasonal regional event brochures – average 11 partners per brochure – brochures distributed at trade shows, State Travel Information Centers and throughout the region
  • Thirty-one organizations in the region were awarded THC partnership grants to use for a heritage tourism project in the last three years – Total value = $90,000
  • Hosted a Texas Friendly Hospitality Instructor Training Workshop
  • Hosted a Small Museum workshop that was attended by 56 people and had four community partners
  • Advertised in TTIA’s file folder for the last three years
  • Creation of the "Seen the Signs?" rack card
  • Participated in eight to ten trade shows throughout Texas each year - averaging six community partners per show
  • Put up two co-op billboards with six partners – Total value - $36,000 a year
  • Developed a web-site  promotion giving away a free trip across the region
  • Developed the "Official Road Map of the Texas Brazos Trail" - featuring a TxDOT map of the region and information on 22 cities in the region
  • Total partner buy in of co-op Marketing projects over 3 years - $66,000
  • Value of in-kind contributions to the Texas Brazos Trail Region in 2005-2006 - $47,000

The Texas Brazos Trail Region includes the following counties: Bastrop, Bell, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Grimes, Hamilton, Lee, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Madison, Milam, Robertson and Williamson.
